Detoxification Methods

There are millions of people around the world who think that body detoxification diets and plans are needed in order to have a healthy body and lifestyle. The truth is – they are 100 % right about that! There are probably millions upon millions of tiny molecules of toxins and bacteria that infiltrate our body everyday. That is why we need to detox yourselves from time to time.

There are all sorts of ways to cleanse the body of toxic substances and toxins,but now we are going to present some of the so called basic methods:

Conventional Methods

Probably the most common method that is used to undergo a body detoxification is spending time in the sauna or the heat room. Sweating is the natural way of the body to lose all the bad substances that are stored in our body. It is important you don’t go too far with overusing the sauna, as you may overheat easily. Don’t spend more than 1 hour at a time.

Raw Juices

Another way to complete a total body detoxification is through the use of raw juices. There are many types of juices that can be used in order to detox your body, but the number one thing that you must realize is that the most effective juices are not the sweet in sweeter the juice the lesser the effect! You must drink juices from broccoli, spinach, kale, along with many others. Also you can add more vegetables to your meals, as they will help a lot with the process of detoxification.

Basic Eating Tips

Avoid problematic and allergenic foods such as: animal fats, saturated fats (margarine, mayonnaise), red meat, sugar (including fructose, glucose, dextrose, corn syrup, honey, raisins, brown sugar, etc..), Refined carbohydrates, salt, alcohol and caffeine. These foods cause side effects such as bloating, flatulence, heaviness after eating, constipation, diarrhea, accumulation of mucus, headache and rash.

Avoid exposure to environmental toxins if possible. Do not eat industirally processed and refined foods, avoid premanufactured foods also. Start eating more fruits and vegetables, eat them raw or slightly cooked.

Eat food that contains enough but not excessive protein and calories. Thus helping and strengthening the cleansing function of the liver.

Drink purified (filtered or boiled) water. Drink at least 2 liters of water per day, every day!

Diversify your meals. Food allergies are caused most frequently from the consumption of monotonous food (wheat, milk, eggs, etc..).

Eat smart. Do not eat any less or more than the necessary amount of food during the day. Chew slowly and calm.

Avoid combining complex carbohydrates such as grains and vegetables with high starch consistency.

Foods to Include in Your Diet

Carbohydrates. The amount of daily intake of carbohydrates should not exceed 60% of the total amount of food for the day. Sources of carbohydrates are whole grains, fruits and vegetables. Eat grains, fresh fruits and vegetables at least 5 times a day and eat just enough so that your hunger is satisfied.

Proteins. Proteins must be no more than 20% of the daily intake of calories. Sources of protein are legumes, whole grains, fish, chicken and lean red meat.

Fats. Fats should not exceed 20% of the daily calories. Daily you can take no more than 2-3 tablespoons fat. Most suitable for consumption is the flax oil. Flax oil is extremely rich in nutrients.

Spices. Used in moderate amount. You can afford the consumption of herbs, vinegar, garlic, ginger, onions and miso.
